Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Generation Rising is a Christian organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Latin America through education. We believe education empowers children to take charge of their own future, helping them lift their families out of poverty and become leaders that ignite change in their communities.
We’re a small organization, but we’re growing steadily. As we expand our work, we are now seeking a full-time Manager of Operations and Fundraising responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Canadian office.

- You are passionate about doing good and serving a community of supporters and donors who care deeply about providing a high-quality Christian education to children growing up in poverty.
- You are relational and are comfortable to represent Generation Rising in public settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Executive Director (10%)
- Administrative support for the ED in day-to-day operations and ensuring the ED keeps on task and meets deadlines.
- Supervise and manage the office staff and act as liaisons between the Executive Director and the rest of the staff.
Day to Day Operations (20%)
- Provide leadership, direction and planning for the day-to-day operations of the organization to meet its goal to fundraise so that our projects can grow and thrive.
- Keep all staff on task and on-time.
- Oversee our fundraising process and ensure that all our direct-mail communications go out on time and without error.
- Create processes to make every-day tasks more efficient and scalable, including stewardship activities and customer service.
- Develop policies, onboarding manuals, branding guides and other systems and structures needed to streamline our Canadian operations.
- Develop and manage staff policies including HR manuals
- Supervise and assist the Office Administrator in maintaining an accurate donor database.
- Supervise and assist in sending out yearly tax receipts and annual reports to donors
Finances (20%)
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the office. This means supervising the following:
- Deposit of weekly donations and preparation of month-end reconciliation for the accountant
- Payment of vendors and contractors
- Tracking, organizing and preparation of expenses for month-end.
- Together with the accountant ensure that all our finances are error-free.
- Prepare year-end finances for the auditors.
- In charge of legal compliance of the organization and making sure the organization follows CRA regulations
Events and Trips (40%)
- In charge of logistics for organizational travel and church service trips (booking flights, accommodations, etc.)
- Assists with all administrative tasks related to events such as booking venues, sending invitations, maintaining guest lists and RSVPs
- Work with churches and other groups to promote Generation Rising fundraising events and ensure events are properly advertised
Donor Care (10%)
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors, child sponsors and community members if needed and solving donor problems with an exceedingly warm and personal approach if needed.
- Actively contribute to developing better ways to serve and engage our donors and to develop a culture of donor care.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong commitment to Jesus Christ and His church.
- A strong commitment to the vision, mission, values, and goals of Generation Rising.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills is a must
- Minimum 2 year experience in customer service and administrative work. Willingness and ability to learn. Experience of 5 years or more will be considered an asset.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace as well as an ability to absorb new skills quickly.
- Experience with donor databases and work in non-profit sector is considered an asset
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Self-motivated, outgoing, flexible and adaptable
- Highly relational and oriented to customer service
Additional Information
- Based in our office at 204-1695 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB. We will not consider any candidates who do not currently have a valid work permit or Canadian residence.
- Successful candidates will need to learn and master the Virtuous donor database as well as other software such as our project management system.
- Reports to the Executive Director and oversees other administrative staff.
- This is a salaried position and includes some evenings and weekends. Compensation ranges between $55,000-$70,000 annually based on qualifications and experience. Full-time hours (40 hours per week) are preferred but allowance can be made for less hours (minimum of 30 hours per week).
- Compensation includes benefits and pension.
- May include some travel outside of Manitoba but is not required.
