Scott Mission supports and equips those who experience poverty to transition to a life of fullness in themselves, in their community, and in their Creator. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Provide strong spiritual leadership, modelling a Christ-centred life and vibrant personal faith
  • Lead with a bold vision and clear strategic direction
  • Inspire and communicate a courageous vision for Scott Mission’s future
  • Preserve and strengthen the Mission’s identity and brand
  • Foster unity, spiritual maturity, and a culture of servant leadership
  • Empower and develop a high-performing leadership team

Revenue Development

  • Build and maintain strong donor relationships, ensuring financial sustainability
  • Identify and diversify revenue growth opportunities
  • Develop and implement effective fundraising and donor engagement strategies
  • Drive entrepreneurial thinking within the organization to enhance revenue streams

External Relations & Partnerships

  • Serve as the face of Scott Mission, fostering strong relationships with donors, government leaders, and key stakeholders
  • Develop and grow strategic partnerships that expand Scott Mission’s impact
  • Advocate for poverty alleviation initiatives and build coalitions within the sector

Operations & Financial Stewardship

  • Ensure operational excellence, continually improving processes and effectiveness
  • Implement best practices in poverty ministry and nonprofit management
  • Lead facility development, strategic asset utilization, and staff training
  • Develop risk management strategies to ensure sustainability and impact

Board Governance

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors, ensuring strong governance and alignment
  • Provide transparent updates on strategic initiatives, financials, and key deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Board Chair to set agendas and recruit new Board members

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Strong People Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead a high-performing executive team
  • Spiritual Leadership: A vibrant Christian faith and a heart for serving the poor
  • Effective Communicator: Engaging and compelling in sharing Scott Mission’s vision
  • Business & Financial Acumen: Strategic thinker with strong financial oversight capabilities
  • Fundraising Experience: Ability to cultivate major donors and secure large gifts
  • Collaborative Leadership: Skilled at building partnerships and working with government entities
  • Nonprofit/Social Sector Experience (an asset): Familiarity with nonprofit leadership and social services

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Compensation and Benefits

  • The compensation range for this role is $175,000 - $215,000.
  • RRSP 6.5% match defined contribution plan
  • 5-6 weeks Vacation 

Proposed Timeline

The successful candidate is expected to sign an employment agreement in May 2025, with an anticipated start date in July 2025. This timeline is intentional, allowing for a smooth executive transition.

Workplace Environment

This is a full-time, onsite role across multiple Scott Mission locations, with the primary workplace being the Scott Mission HUB Distribution Centre at 5 McLachlan Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1E5.

Please note that this role may require occasional travel and work outside of regular business hours, as necessary, to fulfill organizational needs.
