About Timberline Ranch

Timberline Ranch is a Christian camp dedicated to providing Christian hope and wholeness to young people and families through a safe and fun camping environment. Our horse program is a key part of our mission, teaching responsibility, leadership, and horsemanship in a faith-based setting. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Barn Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will love Jesus, and will have a passion for working with horses and people, ensuring the highest standards of horse care, barn maintenance, and safety. This position involves assisting in the daily management of the barn, supervising staff, and contributing to the overall success of the equestrian program at Timberline Ranch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Barn Manager in overseeing daily barn operations, including feeding, turnout, and general care of horses. 
  • Supervise and mentor barn staff and volunteers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment. 
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and evaluation of barn staff. 
  • Ensure all horses are healthy and properly cared for, including monitoring their well-being and reporting any concerns. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barn, tack, and facilities. 
  • Assist in leading and coordinating trail rides, and other horse related programs. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures. 
  • Provide excellent customer service to campers, guests, and staff. Qualifications & Requirements 
  • Familiarity with Christian camp settings and a strong personal commitment to Jesus. 
  • Previous experience in horse care, stable management, or a similar role. 
  • Strong horsemanship skills and knowledge of equine health and behavior. 
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff or volunteers. 
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to barn work, including lifting up to 50 lbs. 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 
  • Agreement with Timberline Ranch’s mission and goals (see website)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with lesson instruction or equestrian program management. 
  • Knowledge of equine first aid and emergency procedures. Compensation & Benefits 
  • Competitive salary based on experience (starting at $44,000 to $48,000 per year). 
  • On-site housing may be available for singles. 
  • Benefits Plan (medical, dental, life, etc.) and 3% matching RSP contributions (after 6 months). 
  • Staff meals when available.
