Position Description

Purpose of Position : 

The Education Ministry leader is responsible for planning and conducting worship services, recruiting and training teachers, and communicating with parents so that the children of registered parents at LPC Downtown can come to know and love God.

Specific Pastoral Duties :

1. Shepherd the students of the LPC Downtown Education Ministry.
2. Recruit and train teachers; conduct monthly teacher meetings.
3. Develop and implement LPC Downtown’s education curriculum and teacher training materials with a consistent pastoral vision.
4. Develop and implement LPC Downtown Family Worship materials
5. LPC Downtown Education Ministry Worship:
   1. Preparation: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
   2. Worship & Lesson: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
6. Saturday Activities:
   1. Period: Late January – First week of April, Late September – First week of December
   2. Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
7. Plan and execute the annual week-long Vacation Bible School (VBS) each summer.

General Pastoral Duties :

1. Attend the LPC Downtown Pastoral Meeting every Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
2. Participate in and collaborate on LPC Downtown public worship services and events.
3. Annual Events:
   1. Plan and lead Children’s Sunday Worship on the first Sunday of May.
   2. Lead the Education Ministry Worship during the LPC Downtown Retreat.
   3. Organize and lead Christmas Worship, including Education Ministry presentations and service in December.

Education/Experience :

1. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in education ministry.
2. Must have an M.Div. degree or be currently enrolled in an M.Div. program.
3. Must be fluent in Korean and capable of basic communication in English.

Comments/Addendum :

Salary will be determined based on experience and educational background.
