Kids Ministry Director - 2 positions available (Vineland and Welland)

Permanent Part Time (20 hours per week including Sunday mornings)
Annual Salary: $23,411.58

About Southridge Community Church:

We’re a Jesus-centred multi-site missional community, seeking to foster lives that are fully devoted to Jesus across the Niagara Region. About the Role The role of Kids Ministry Director is so important for the children and families of our church and our wider community. This individual is passionate about Jesus and having kids of all ages know Jesus, be discipled in the way of Jesus. The Kids Ministry Director knows the best way to do this is in partnership with families and walking alongside them in all of life’s circumstance. This leader will raise up and coordinate teams of volunteers in order to enable individuals in our community to use their giftings to serve kids and families. As a church we are responsible to recognize the faith of the children, guide them with wisdom, and grow alongside them.

About You

  • You are passionate about Jesus, discipleship and helping kids and their families discover and grow their relationship with Jesus.
  • Your experience gives you a strong understanding of kid’s ministry best practices, learning styles and how to support the whole family in spiritual formation and discipleship.
  • You love working with leaders who are discipling kids and their families, and you love casting vision and teaching to make faith and discipleship practical and accessible for kids of all ages
  • You are known for your spiritual maturity, depth of relationships, wisdom and energy.

Role Requirements

  • A mature follower of Jesus, who has healthy spiritual rhythms, relational supports, and spiritual accountability
  • A strong relational bandwidth that can connect with kids, their parents, and volunteer ministry leaders
  • Experience in building/supporting teams of volunteer leaders
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Have a theological rootedness in a Jesus-centred understanding of the Bible and how to communicate this perspective to others.

Role Responsibilities

  • Pray for the families, kids and volunteers of our church
  • Build teams of volunteer for kids’ ministry programs in Vineland
  • Oversee and support all Sunday morning kids, volunteers and programs in Vineland
  • Establish relationships with families and parents/caregivers in Vineland to partner with them in discipling their kids in the way of Jesus
  • Work with Location Pastor to develop a plan to effectively partner with, serve and care for families in Vineland as well as integrate them into missional community events
  • Other duties as required

Accountabilities

  • Ensure all families receive a regular touch point from a leader each month
  • Create meaningful gathering spaces on Sunday mornings appropriate for all ages
  • Connect with volunteer leaders on a regular basis
  • Successful transition of all kids graduating from our kid’s ministry into our youth ministry
