Summit Camps is a summer day camp with a focus on developing next generation leaders and guiding them to know and intentionally follow Jesus through camp ministries. Position Objective

Summit Camps is looking for a high capacity L.I.T. Crew Leaders who are passionate about providing fun, safe & engaging camp experiences that introduce the next generation to Jesus & create opportunities for Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) to grow in faith and confidence while developing leadership skills & Biblically based characteristics. L.I.T. Crew Leaders set the tone of the L.I.T. experience & lead by example, ensuring their assigned L.I.T.s receive excellent care, mentorship & encouragement as they grow and serve throughout the Summit Camps 2025 programs & activities. L.I.T. Crew Leaders will take a unique focus on managing, mentoring, and working alongside youth in the Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) program, while also leading them in supporting the overall camp environment through a variety of tasks including camper programs and operations.

Position Details

  • Spring & Summer 2025 Contract Position
  • Frequency: 40 hours weekly
  • Position Period: July 2, 2025 to July 25, 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • Guiding and supervising L.I.T.s as they assist with camper programming.
  • Collaborating with co-leaders to offer encouragement, feedback, and resources that create opportunities for the youth to build their leadership skills and confidence while leading campers or other operational tasks
  • Work with co-leaders and L.I.T.s to ensure the safety of all campers by assisting with taking roll call at activities, monitoring lunch times, and working with the Camp Administrator to update attendance lists throughout the day
  • Participating in camp skits, music videos, teaching videos, or other videos and media for camp programming & promotional uses
  • Assisting in preparing, organizing, and distributing camp materials as needed-empowering L.I.T.s to take ownership & initiative in these responsibilities
  • Co-leading a variety of camp activities, electives, and wide games / special programs, while coaching L.I.T.s on how to lead, assist, and adapt to camper needs
  • Supervising and supporting L.I.T.s as they serve through operational tasks and special projects
  • Leading and coordinating L.I.T. team assignments during registrations days or special programs
  • Welcoming & connecting with L.I.T.s daily and throughout all camper programs
  • Setting a consisting example in speech, action, and attitude-modeling Christ-like behaviours and demonstrating servant leadership, kindness, and responsibility to assigned L.I.T.s
  • Leading assigned areas such as before care, inventory & set up, or check-in zones in the morning
  • Leading assigned areas such as after care, inventory & clean up, or check-out zones in the evening
  • Guiding L.I.T.s in assisting with taking inventory of camp resources while teaching them how to handle, organize, store, and care for camp resources responsibly
  • Collaborate with the Director of L.I.T. Programs and co-leaders to identify and implement meaningful leadership experiences for assigned youth
  • Assisting in the creation & set up of camp decorations, set designs & program areas
  • Assisting with First Aid stations & L.I.T. care as needed
  • Reporting any camp hazards or broken equipment to the Camp Administrator, Director of Operations & Tech or NextGen Pastoral Leadership team
  • Leading L.I.T.s in assisting with cleaning camp spaces & other operational tasks
  • Take initiative in caring for L.I.T.s or suggesting modifications & accommodations as needed to the camp leadership team
  • Participating in an environmental care plan including measures & best practices for recycling, compost & food/waste management, as well as grounds clean up & property stewardship
  • Ability to uphold Summit Camps & Summit Community Church’s mission, vision, values, guidelines, code of conduct & team handbook
  • Additional duties & ad-hoc responsibilities may be assigned as objectives are determined
