Reports to: Care and Missions Pastor
Works closely with: Staff, SERVE Team Leads, Mission Action team, Operations
Position Summary:
The Care and Missions Coordinator at Bayview Glen Church supports the implementation of the vision for Care and Missions, working under the leadership of the Care and Missions Pastor. This role helps coordinate and administer initiatives that reflect the love and truth of Jesus, locally through practical care and support for volunteer teams, and globally through connections with our mission partners and outreach efforts. This role is designed for someone who is relational, organized, and passionate about helping the church serve both neighbours and nations with excellence and compassion.
The compensation for this part-time role is based on experience, with an hourly rate ranging from $19 to $21 dollars an hour. This role includes weekday in-office hours and occasional weekend availability.
Candidate Profile
Skills and Qualifications:
- A spiritually and emotionally mature follower of Jesus.
- Compassionate, dependable, and people-oriented.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills; detail-oriented and efficient.
- Team player with excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong administrative skills
- Self-starter who is adaptable and solutions-focused, and able to work independently
- Familiarity with food security and program development is an asset.
- Proficient with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and church management systems
- Understanding of Bayview Glen Church’s mission and values is an asset
- 2+ years of experience in ministry, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit/community work
- Education in ministry, social services, or administration is preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Care and Missions Pastor in planning and implementing short-term and long-term strategic objectives
- Collaborate with SERVE Team leads to ensure timely and effective execution of Care and Missions initiatives
- Assist in developing and maintaining systems, workflows, and documentation for ongoing ministry programs (e.g., volunteer onboarding, communication schedules, request tracking)
- Coordinate calendars, email communications, and templates to promote clarity, consistency, and smooth ministry operations
- Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing support of Care SERVE Team volunteers
- Collect and organize stories, feedback, and data to highlight ministry impact and support future planning
- Other duties as assigned
