Next Generation Pastor

Valley Church is a growing and vibrant faith community located in Drayton Valley, home to over 7,000 residents. We are passionate about helping people find and follow Jesus and are committed to seeing lives transformed through salvation and discipleship. God is moving here, and we are just getting started!

One of our greatest priorities is investing in the next generation. Over the past few years, we have intentionally built strong ministries for children and youth, and today, more and more families with kids and teens are making Valley Church their home. We are seeking someone who shares this passion and is ready to help us take the next step in reaching and discipling the next generation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Next Generation Assistant Pastor who is deeply committed to helping children, teens, and their families grow in their relationship with Jesus. You will play a key role in leading ministries that engage kids and teenagers both inside and outside the church, helping them discover Jesus, grow in their faith, and influence their world for Christ.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and Develop Youth Ministry: Plan, organize, and lead our bi-monthly Youth Ministry gatherings. Build and empower a youth leadership team to create a welcoming and engaging environment for teens.
• Oversee Kids Ministry: Coordinate our Sunday morning Kids Ministry by recruiting, training, and supporting a team of volunteers to serve our growing number of children.
• Disciple Kids and Teens by investing relationally and spiritually in the children and youth who call Valley Church home, helping them follow Jesus and develop a faith that lasts.
• Family Support Partner with parents to equip and support them in raising their children to know and love Jesus.
• Plan Outreach Events: Organize quarterly events for children, youth, and families to connect with the wider community and share the love of Jesus.
• Cultural Engagement: Understand the culture of our church and community and find ways to engage in the broader community. 
• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor: meet regularly with the Lead Pastor and assist with church-wide responsibilities and leadership as needed.

Position Details

• Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week), including Sunday worship, Youth, and Kids Ministry involvement.
• Salary: Negotiable (based on experience).
• Reports To: Lead Pastor
