About Oasis Youth Care Programs
Oasis Youth Care Programs is a Christian non-profit that provides housing, healing supports, and life-building opportunities to Black and racialized youth facing housing insecurity in the Halton Region. We’re rooted in holistic care, mentorship, and community connection.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Summer Program Assistant to support admin operations and digital communications. You’ll help coordinate schedules, assist with events, and manage Oasis’s social media and outreach efforts. This role is ideal for a student who’s organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about youth and equity.

- Location: Halton Region, ON
- Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary (30 hours/week)
- Wage: $18/hour
- Term: July to August 31, 2025
- Funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support (40%)
- Assist with scheduling, digital recordkeeping, and meeting coordination
- Support event logistics (e.g., supplies, RSVPs, venues)
- Take notes during meetings and prepare follow-ups
- Help draft internal updates for staff and the Board
Communications & Outreach (60%)
- Draft newsletters and stakeholder updates
- Create and schedule content for social media (posts, reels, stories)
- Monitor inboxes and respond to inquiries via email/social channels
- Design flyers and digital materials to promote programs and events
Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs Program)
Applicants must:
- Be 15–30 years old at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold refugee protection status
- Have a valid SIN and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be returning to school in fall 2025
Ideal Candidate
- Enrolled in Communications, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field
- Strong communicator with attention to detail
- Familiar with platforms like Instagram, Canva, and Mailchimp
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Passionate about youth empowerment and equity
- Experience with Black and racialized communities is an asset
