Position Description

Trinity Christian Academy, a member of Golden Hills School Division, is currently accepting applications for a part-time Chapel Coordinator/Chaplain. Trinity Christian Academy is located in Strathmore, Alberta and is 25 minutes from Calgary city limits.

The successful candidate will report to and be directly responsible to the Principal of the school and will work closely with staff, students, and parents to help foster community life and organize chapels. The expected hours are between 15-20 hours a week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to TCA’s mission, vision, values and strategic priorities;
• Develop and implement an Annual Chapel Plan which provides the organization of TCA’s weekly chapels. This includes coordinating guest speakers and developing chapel activities;
• Organizes and facilitates TCA’s weekly chapels;
• Advocates for students and ministers to their needs while respecting the dignity and worth of all persons in their care and service;
• Promotes and lead youth ministry and leadership/service opportunities at the school;
• Works with the school to establish and support youth activities and community involvement;
• Collaborates with teachers and administration to provide opportunities for staff and students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of faith. This can include supporting teachers in their Christian Studies classes.
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience

• Excellent Leadership, communication, collaboration, and organization skills
• Strong background in theology, pastoral education, and community building
• Experience working with children and youth in support of their faith development
• Work and volunteer experience that aligns with the Mission, Vision, and Values of TCA would be considered an asset.
• Post Secondary Education would be considered an asset.
