Position Description

Village Eulogia offers 3 Summer Internship Positions with unique training and opportunities in developing and implementing recreational programs at Camp Eulogia for families with children/adults who have special needs.

Duration: July 5 - August 22; 7 weeks; 180 hours total

Are you interested in working with children with special needs? The Special Needs Program Internship is an opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in facilitating virtual programs for a diverse group of individuals with special needs at Camp Eulogia (retreat for families with special needs). You will be involved in family orientation, program development, and training. Flexible availability required some weekends.


  • Passion and experience working with and programming for children with special needs (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mild Intellectual Disability, Global Developmental Delay, Physical Disability, Down Syndrome, etc.)
  • Experience in facilitating virtual group events is an asset
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Email, Dropbox, Social Media
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 2
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (valid for 3 years)
  • This position is funded by a government grant. Applicants must be between age 18 and 30 to be considered
  • Fluent in English. Functional Cantonese and/or Mandarin an asset


  • Plan and facilitate virtual programs for children who have special needs (ages 6-18)
  • Plan and facilitate group activities for the entire family
  • Conduct family orientation sessions and volunteer training
  • Attend meetings with mentors and child protection training
  • Engage with the community through social media
  • Complete all other assigned duties
