Position Description

Community Bible Church (CBC) Stittsville, an Associate Gospel Church (AGC) presenting two weekly services, is searching to fill a technical contract positon to deploy digital video live streaming to the Internet. The optimal candidate will also have digital video production experience with the necessary creative touch to lead in video production and editing for both live and on demand video content. Success, at the end of the contract, will be a fully deployed two (or more) camera video production, editing, and live streaming system including at least one volunteer fully trained in its operation.

A flexible schedule is required as weekend and evening hours are required.

  • Starting date: ASAP
  • Term: 3 months, Part time hours expected
  • Compensation: $8,000.00

Duties:

Assist and advise the Music and Arts Ministry leader to:

  • Procure the appropriate hardware and software technology to implement streaming video, examples:
    • Video cameras
    • Digital video switcher
    • Digital video editor
    • Audio and video interfaces to the network
    • Server(s) and computer(s)
  • Ensure the following conditions are met for live streaming video to the Internet:
    • HD (or higher) video with high quality audio
    • Network(s) are sufficiently provisioned for no negative impact on other network services
    • Security requirements are met
  • Create video content for use in services and for on demand platforms (example: YouTube)
  • Train volunteers to operate the video production facility for
    • Live streaming during a service
    • Post production of video for on demand use

Includes the basics of video editing (assembly, insert edits, titles, effects, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Complete technical and operating familiarity with the installed video production and streaming facility
  • Developing and deploying a user & training manual for the video production and streaming facility
  • Oversee the launch of and ongoing live streaming services (to the end of contract)
    • Quickly troubleshooting common issues with the live video stream to maximize uptime
  • Effectively pitching ideas / creative solutions / innovative ways to reach a desired audience

The successful candidate must be a team-building leader with a Christ centered servant’s heart, exemplifying high integrity and strong character. They must work well with a variety of personalities in a fast paced environment.  Self-motivated independent working capability is a must. We are looking for someone who can bring vision and creativity to the production and use of video content at CBC-Stittsville.

Experience:

  • Leading deployment of live video streaming to the internet
  • Video production
  • Video editing
  • Macintosh (preferred)
  • PC
  • Must have strong communications skills – verbal, written, and presentation
  • Training lead experience is an asset
  • Experience in audio engineering / production is an asset
