The Executive Director is responsible for the spiritual ministry of the mission. This involves the oversight of staff and the daily operation of the mission. The Executive Director is the face of the mission and represents the ministry to those outside of the mission. This may involve overseeing staff to input and monitor the finances.
Ensuring that the mission meets all legal financial requirements for Canada Revenue Agency and compliance items for the Canadian Council of Christian Charities. The Executive Director is responsible to see that the approved budget for the ministry is met.
- International: Making sure that GRN Canada complies with the GRN International Constitution. Corresponds with the International Director and other International leadership positions, as needed. Completes the twice yearly reports to the International office. Represent GRN Canada at the GRN Council meeting, which is held every four years. There may be other meetings that may require participation in. This involves assessing the needs of the GRN ministries our office supports. This may involve occasional overseas trips to visit GRN ministries that GRN Canada sends funds to.
- Promotion: Involves speaking at churches or other groups for the purpose of sharing about the ministry of GRN. This involves the following items but not limited to them. The Executive Director shares about the ministry in Churches, mission events and other promotional opportunities. Is also responsible for the production of the GRN Canada Newsletter and Prayer letter, as well as the development of other material to promote the ministry.
- Budgetary: Responsible to provide an annual budget to the Board for their approval and ensure that the ministry stays within the guidelines of the Annual Budget.
- Leadership: The Director will be responsible for recruiting and overseeing the volunteer workers as well as any additional staff that join the ministry. There is currently no fulltime staff working in the office. New staff will be initially interviewed by the director who will make a recommendation to the Board. The Board makes final decision regarding the addition of new full or part-time missionary staff.
This position requires a person that has made a personal commitment as a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ. This should be evident in their personal lifestyle and commitment to their local church. The individual will be required to agree to the GRN Canada lifestyle policy. The Executive Director must also be in agreement with the Statement of Faith of the mission. It is recommended that the candidate have overseas missionary experience or worked with international immigrants to Canada. It is expected that the Executive Director will be available for international travel and also travel within Canada.
This will be decided in consultation with the GRN Canada board. The ministry is a faith mission which relies upon God to move individuals and churches to support the ministry. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to come with support from individuals and churches.
