Founded in 1983, Bishop Hamilton Montessori School is a CCMA-accredited, not-for-profit independent school offering a Christian Montessori education to approximately 200 students in the Ottawa area.

Join Our Team

We’re currently searching for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Christian Studies Teacher for the upcoming school year. In this role you’ll guide the learning of a wide range of elementary student groups, from primary to intermediate.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement annual plans, unit plans, and daily lesson plans.
  • Manage and guide individual student behaviour.
  • Produce formative and summative student assessments.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents as required, and conduct parent interviews at the request of the parents as required.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching colleagues and other members of the school community.
  • Plan and participate in field trips, including overnight trips
  • Participate in school events and activities, contributing to the School Community and spirit.
  • Provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere in the classroom and throughout the school.

Key Qualifications

  • Educational background in Christian Studies, Theology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience guiding the learning of a wide range of age groups, from grades one to eight.
  • A B.Ed or similar qualification is a strong asset.
  • Creative and energetic, with the passion, dedication and enthusiasm to create a healthy, vibrant and engaging student-centred learning environment.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collegial and easy to work with; flexible and adaptable; keen to learn and develop as an educational professional.


8:30am – 3:30pm
