Hours: Monday to Friday; 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM


We are currently seeking a dynamic individual who can interact with a young boy in need of a Personal Support Worker (PSW). This position would see this individual begin in September 2021 and work with the personal and physical requirements of a well-behaved, verbal, and intelligent 12 year old boy with a physical disability.  Under the general direction of the Vice Principal, the PSW is responsible for supervising and assisting the child during transitions, meal times and in the washroom. This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Monitor the emotional, social and physical wellness of the child
  • Assistance will be needed with transfers
  • Ideally the worker will be able to support the teacher by scribing for the child and promoting opportunities for the child to be as independent as possible in the classroom

Job Requirements

  • Current PSW certification preferred
  • Experience working with children between 4 to 12 years of age
  • Standard First Aid with Child & Infant CPR – Level C
  • An acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (employment specific)
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to cope with physical demands of the job
  • Punctual and reliable
