Position Description

Lakeside’s vision is to be a community helping people discover and fully follow Jesus. And this includes our children. The Lakeside Kids Pastor will lead and direct the children’s ministry at both of our locations, with a heart to see kids experience the unconditional love of God and to help them encounter Jesus and follow him.

Responsibilities

Children’s Programming

  • Design a program for children from birth to Grade 5 that effectively fulfills the vision of Lakeside Church
  • Select and oversee the implementation of curriculum and strategy for Sunday mornings
  • Set-up and clean-up of weekly gatherings and special events
  • Coordinate with pastors for baby dedications
  • Organize gifts and certificate for babies dedicated
  • Oversee Jelly Tots (weekly parents and tots drop-in), PD day events, seasonal family events
  • Work collaboratively with Lakeside Youth Pastor for children transitioning into Junior Youth (Grade 6)

Volunteer Coordination and Scheduling

  • Recruit, train and provide support to volunteers when needed
  • Manage volunteer records, including police checks
  • Ensure all Lakeside Kids policies and procedures are followed

Administration

  • Prepare annual budget, manage monthly finances
  • Attend weekly staff and planning meetings
  • Develop and oversee the communication plan and strategy for the department

Reports To: Pastor of Spiritual Growth & Leadership Development
Direct Reports: Family Ministries Coordinator
