Tyndale offers fully accredited programs in a wide range of disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Academic Planning Project Manager

This is an exciting time to get involved with Tyndale University’s mission and plans for growth. In December 2020, the Provincial Government of Ontario approved the expansion of Tyndale University’s charter authorizing ten new degree programs. The Office of the Provost is seeking to appoint an Academic Project Manager to assist in the development and implementation of new degree programs. The Provost is responsible for presenting a five-year academic plan to Tyndale’s Senate (senior academic committee of the University) and the Board of Governors in December 2021. We hope to launch the first new degree programs in the fall of 2022.

The position of Academic Project Manager is a full time contract position for one year. The Academic Project Manager will work closely with the Provost to assist in the development and implementation of new degree programs; this will include collecting data and carrying out feasibility studies. The post holder will liaise with the Deans of Undergraduate Studies and the Seminary and collaborate with Faculty. For this reason, experience at developing and implementing programs and proposals and familiarity with the culture of Universities, Seminaries and/or similar higher-education institutions, will be an asset for this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Project management for the development of a 5-Year academic plan to deliver new degree programs at Tyndale University
  • Collecting data and conducting feasibility studies to assist with the development of new degree programs
  • Liaison with the following Tyndale departments/offices: Deans, Faculty, Registrar, Admissions & Open Learning Centre
  • Drafting policy and proposals

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate degree. Doctoral degree would be an asset.

Experience

  • 6-7 years of educational administration and/or outcome-based curriculum development and/or teaching experience. Experience at developing and implementing programs and proposals. Familiarity with the culture of Universities, Seminaries and/or similar higher-education institutions, will be an asset for this role.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in writing, editing, reports and proposals
  • An understanding of and commitment to service-oriented curriculum development within the context of a university Dean’s Offices.
  • High organizational capacity, together with the ability to work efficiently to short-term deadlines and handle moderately complex data.
  • Fluent in academic policy writing and the preparation of new program proposals.
  • Comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom.

Personal Characteristics

  • Highly self-motivated, able to work under direction and use initiative.
  • Professional, adaptable, strong work ethic, positive and friendly, adept at relating to a range of Tyndale employees (administration, faculty and staff).
  • A commitment to Tyndale’s mission, values, Statement of Faith and Community Standards.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • General office environment and equipment.
  • Range from low to moderate levels of stress depending on challenging circumstances, people, timelines, assignments.
