Position Description

Regeneration Outreach Community is a community of caring persons who, as an expression of Christian love in action, are continually striving to provide dignity to the lives of all those in need. We operate seven days a week bringing healing, personal growth and spiritual awareness to those in need within a safe and caring environment.

We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will mainly be responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers and coordinating with staff for all aspects of Regeneration Outreach Community.  We are a multi-site organization that provides programming at our main site, our Marketplace (Food Bank) and Thrift Store.  In addition, you will be delegating responsibilities to volunteers and training selected people for their future positions.  You must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and recruit volunteers using different recruiting techniques (databases, email, social media, etc.)
  • Collect information on qualifications, availability and skills
  • Arrange for appropriate orientation and training
  • Arrange schedules for everyday activities and special events
  • Arrange for group volunteer opportunities
  • Assign responsibilities as appropriate
  • Communicate frequently with volunteers and appropriate staff
  • Ensure volunteers are satisfied by creating a healthy working environment
  • Keep and manage records of volunteers’ information and work 
  • Evaluate volunteers’ work
  • Give constructive feedback
  • Ensure the purpose and mission is clearly communicated

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Volunteer Coordinator or similar role
  • 5 years of experience in volunteering 
  • 3 years of experience as a Volunteer Coordinator is a strong asset
  • Good knowledge in different recruiting methods
  • Working knowledge of databases (Volgistics experience an asset) and MS Office
  • Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
  • Effective time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Diploma in human resources management or non-profit administration is an asset
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination approved by Health Canada
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check
  • “G Class” driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
