Position Description

Reports To

Youth and Young Adults Pastor

Hours

January – April 2022, 10 hrs. per week, both on and off site

May – August 2022, 32 hours plus per week, on site

This is a contract position for the dates specified above, therefore no benefits are offered.

Accountability

P = Primary, SH = Shared, SE = Secondary

Primary Function

Working alongside the Youth and Young Adults Pastor, the Summer Ministry Coordinator will focus on bringing together the Summer Ministry programming for Children, Youth and Young Adults.

Specific Responsibilities

Summer Grants

Accountability = P

  • Will be primarily responsible, along with the Youth and Young Adults Pastor, for writing the grant applications for government grants available to BBC to support the summer ministries
  • Tracking of all grants provided, ensure all requirements of the government for hiring, etc. are strictly adhered to

Staffing

Accountability = SH

  • Work alongside the Youth and Young Adults Pastor to hire/assemble a Core Leadership Team who will give oversight to the summer ministries team
  • Be present at interviews/meetings to select the candidates who will form the summer ministry team

Programming

Accountability = SH

  • Will work alongside the Youth and Young Adults Pastor to create programming for the various camps that will be offered throughout the summer, based on the needs of the church and community
  • Will assist with any advertising prepared for the summer ministries

Oversight

Accountability = P

  • Will give oversight the registration process when registration opens and provide information to the community regarding camps are needed
  • Will give oversight, along with the Youth and Young Adults Pastor, to the entire summer ministries team
  • Will ensure that any and all protocols required by the government with regard to Covid-19 are strictly adhered to, to ensure the safety of staff and participants
  • Will ensure that the building is locked and secure at the end of each day, and will seek to maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and participants

Other Duties

Accountability = SE

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Youth and Young Adults Pastor
