Walking Together is a core program at EduDeo Ministries, focusing on equipping and strengthening healthy learning, leaders, and organizations in the majority world – and we’re looking for another Co-Leader to join the program. You’ll play an integral and collaborative role in bringing together teachers and leaders from all over the world to support, mentor, and guide their peers in educational workshops. Our ideal Walking Together Co-Leader is a highly motivated and relational individual with a background in Christian education and a deep passion for international development done well.

Position: Walking Together Co-Leader 

Classification: Salary – Full Time, Program Management 

Start Date: July 1, 2022 

Position Summary:

The Walking Together Co-Leader, in collaboration with two other Co-Leaders, is responsible for equipping educators and leaders from partner organizations with tools for the integration of a Biblical worldview in education and leading thriving organizations.

Position Goals:

  1. To plan, set, and execute the strategic direction for context-relevant educational workshops to meet partner needs.
  2. To grow a strong network of experienced local and international educators and leaders to deliver high quality Walking Together workshops.
  3. To work with the International Partnership Director to actively explore and share partner needs, information, and dreams.

Description of Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Walking Together Program Development: (85%)

  • Plan workshops with global partners on the three foci areas of the Walking Together (WT) program (healthy learning, leaders, and organizations).
    • Develop and coordinate WT project plans with partners and workshop facilitators.
    • Follow-up with workshop facilitators and partner leaders.
    • Provide ongoing evaluation and analysis of the impact of the WT program.
  • Collaborate with like-minded regional and international education organizations.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with educational organizations and institutions in North America.
    • Attend educational conferences and workshops relating to further program development.
    • Network with organizations and individuals involved in teacher and leadership development in the majority world.
  • Recruit and equip Learning Leaders.
    • Recruit experienced educators in North America and among global partners who can equip leaders identified by our global partners.
    • Develop relationships with like-minded global education organizations.
    • Conduct orientation and training with Learning Leaders prior to training with partners.
  • Invest in the development of leaders and educators from our global partners.
    • In consultation with the International Partnership Director, connect with international partners to identify leadership development opportunities for key educators.
    • Collect and/or develop strategic educational resources to make them available in key partner languages.
    • Participate in mentoring relationships with global partners so they can advocate for Christ-centred education in their local contexts.

2. Organization: (15%)

  • Be an active member of the International Partnership Team.
  • Be an active participant in EduDeo team meetings.
  • Represent EduDeo, as requested, as promotional opportunities present themselves.
  • Continue to grow through professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Reporting Structure:

The Walking Together Co-Leader reports to the International Partnership Director.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to Jesus Christ and His church.
  • Strong commitment to the vision, mission, values, and goals of EduDeo Ministries.
  • A degree in Education, an MA in educational leadership, management, or international development, or other related discipline would be an asset.
  • Familiarity and experience with a holistic integration of the Christian faith into education.
  • Strong advocate for education in global contexts, with international experience being an asset.
  • Experience in coaching people into leadership and organizational development.
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or French is an asset.
  • An understanding of various pedagogies – specifically Restorative Practices, Teaching for Transformation, and experiential learning – is an asset.
  • Connections within the North American education networks – with organizations like Christian Schools Canada or regional education associations – are an asset.
  • Experience with a not-for-profit mission / development organization is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with online meeting software (Zoom, Google Meetings, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings and evenings.
  • International Travel: approximately four weeks per year.
  • Domestic Travel: approximately one week per year.
  • Ideally an ability to work from our Hamilton, Ontario office.
