Position Description

Church Profile

Maple Creek Community Church is located on the eastern side of the small community of Dunnville, bordering the beautiful Niagara Peninsula. This Christian faith community worships and celebrates body life in a multi-use facility situated on a small acreage campus on a quiet sideroad. This family fellowship is a ‘small church’ of some sixty people, young and old. With new families joining the church and the hope of more, the belief is the church will continue to grow as its future is entrusted to God. Maple Creek is affiliated with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada and as such enjoys the oversight and counsel of a wider group of leaders and pastors.

There is an anticipation, within the congregation, that God is doing something unique and lovely at Maple Creek. The congregation is a warm, welcoming, loving group of God’s children embracing God’s faithfulness, He has nurtured the church through over 80 years of ministry. We seek to care for one another as well as those beyond this fellowship as prompted and equipped to do so, faithfully living out the Truth of Scripture for God’s glory. We realize we are travelers on a journey, living in the Kingdom but with a firm view of the hope of Christ’s restoration and eternal life with God.

Community Profile

The community of Dunnville is over 160 years old, established as a transportation hub of roads, rail and waterways bringing settlers and commerce to the area. A strong farming community, a vibrant tourism industry along with light industry is the backbone of the local economy. With five financial institutions, a thriving hospital and social support agencies, a healthy retail sector and an active recreational culture, the town offers much to its’ residents. Being close to major centres such as Hamilton and St. Catharines, any amenity is available if wanted. A well-used library, an active theatre group and a River Arts Festival round out the cultural side of this small, vibrant town.

Dunnville is a beautiful town along the gentle Grand River, just kilometers north of the shores of Lake Erie. It’s “Grand Living in a Grand Town”.

This is meant to be a brief summary of the church at Maple Creek and the community of Dunnville where the church has been called to serve as ambassadors of Christ. A more expansive profile is available upon request.
