Position Description
Mandate:
To be an active voice and advocate of justice for individuals impacted by the sex industry and sex trafficking; and to further assist them in finding necessary support systems that will support their journey of healing, restoration, safety and freedom.
Mission:
- to seek out survivors of sex trafficking and connect them with support, premised on biblical principles of love, patience and compassion
- to protect the rights and dignity of individuals involved in sex trafficking
- to collaborate, engage in dialogue and partner with other national stake holders and agencies that directly or indirectly have a passion to help survivors of sex trafficking
- to advocate for changes and support upcoming policies that directly or indirectly have an impact on seeing sex trafficking eradicated in Canada
- to provide preventative measures that will help individuals understand their identity, value, and self worth as well as provide that support for those who are still in sex trafficked situations

Job Details
Team Support
You are responsible for working closely with the survivor care staff and volunteer team to (1) help build support plans for case management to determine the best forms of support for survivors through highly individualized services; (2) provide advice and support to the team in navigating relationships with survivors; and (3) work through challenges and troubleshoot with the team. This involves support check-ins with staff and volunteers, as well as training and updating available services and referrals. (4) help to create and support the tri-fold wrap-around care model for survivors in the areas of case managers, advocates (friends and mentors), and professional support (psychotherapists, spiritual directors, and pastoral care.
Survivors
You are responsible for meeting with and supporting survivors directly through support and/or case management as needed and reviewing their support plans regularly. This requires a flexible schedule and a willingness to adapt to new situations quickly. You are responsible for developing a plan for managing the emergency hotline number.
Partnership
Partnerships are super important in this role. Building relationships with service providers, law enforcement, churches, and other groups is vital to creating a good support network for survivors. This involves partnership development meetings and stewarding partnerships well.
Resources
You are responsible for maintaining the database of resources/partnerships available for survivor care and sharing this information with the staff team to ensure that we can provide good well-rounded care. You are responsible for researching trends, patterns, and new resources to support survivors in their journey to freedom. You are responsible for reviewing budgets and expenses monthly.
Safe House
You are responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operations of our Safehouse, transitionally housing survivors of sex trafficking. You are responsible for assisting grant applications for financial support of the safehouse.
Specific Qualifications:
- Christian Faith: Have a solid and vibrant Christian faith
- Church Involvement: A positive relationship with a recognized church and regular attendance
- Ministry Experience: Have a solid background and understanding of Christian ministry
- Mission Agreement: Compliance with Fight4Freedom’s theological and mission statements
- Education: Relevant University or College Education
- Is flexible in a team environment and is a team player
- Able to work independently and strongly self-motivated
- Superb command of the English language (both written and oral)
- Affinity for working in a small-sized non-profit, charitable environment
