Position Description

The summer student will provide support to staff helping with the foodbank and a family camp. The student will help set up the foodbank and distributing food to clients. The student will provide support to clients accessing the foodbank. The student will be working with small children. The student will be someone who is flexible, adaptable, willing to help where needed and be a team player. The student will assist the program directors who coordinate the programs.  The student will also provide assistance with administrative tasks when required. Looking for someone to start on July 2, 2025

Duties will include:

• Completion of client intake using the database provided
• Stocking shelves, sorting produce and arranging items to ensure smooth and safe packing process
• Assisting in receiving food donations
• Completion of all records for food bank
• Ensuring confidentiality of clients
• Adhere to Health and Safety Protocols
• Assisting in opening and closing procedures of foodbank program
• Greeting individuals who enter the building
• Provide phone reception services when needed.
• Supporting staff with administrative tasks
• Working with small children

Qualifications:

• Experience in some leadership roles
• Ability to move and lift up to 30 pounds
• Experience handling confidential information
• Respectful and kind demeanor
• Flexible and adaptable
• Mature
• Passionate about social work and/or helping marginalized clientele
• Must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
