Position Description

Payroll & Benefits Administrator, Part-Time

Are you motivated by your Christian faith to use your administrative and technical skills to serve behind the scenes so others can flourish on the frontlines?

Do you have the gifts and skills to oversee payroll and benefits in order to support the work of our committed field workers among the youth of the Greater Toronto Area?

Do you see how you can play an important role on a collaborative team that ensures our systems and processes allow us to be increasingly effective in transforming the lives of over 3,000 young people each year?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About Youth Unlimited (YFC Toronto)

With over one million young people, what happens in Toronto reverberates across our country and beyond. We have the opportunity to shape families and communities through our work in the most multicultural city in the world.

At Youth Unlimited, we are deeply committed to helping young people lead wholistic, hopeful, faith-filled lives, as they encounter a loving and life-changing God. Becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus, we believe these youth will restore their families and neighbourhoods, and in turn, have the power to change our city.

Youth Unlimited has more than 70 staff, over 300 volunteers, and 60 initiatives impacting approximately 1,500 young people on a weekly basis. Our work is done with a commitment to partnership, grassroots innovation, and long-term relationships in the communities we serve. Learn more about us at yugta.ca.

We are seeking to grow in every aspect of our mission – reaching more youth, in more communities, with more transformative impact.

To do so, we are ensuring we have the capacity and competence to ensure our Support Services team can effectively support our growing frontline work.

About the Payroll & Benefits Administrator

As a member of the Support Services team, the Payroll & Benefits Administrator will play a critical role in the effective operations of Youth Unlimited. You have the opportunity to ensure every employee of Youth Unlimited receives accurate pay, full delivery of applicable benefits, timely reporting, and a high level of service in response to their inquiries.

Specifically, in this role you’d be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the implementation of payroll for all salaried and hourly employees;
  • Ensuring staff are equipped to maximize all benefit plans (namely group insurance and RSPs) and overseeing their execution in collaboration with YFC Canada;
  • Addressing all applicable staff inquiries with timeliness and excellence in collaboration with your Support Services team members;
  • Overseeing Youth Unlimited’s compliance in all regulatory areas related to payroll and benefits.

This position is part-time (20 hours/week) working from our Jonesville Crescent Office in North York, but with flexibility to work from home for a portion of each work week.

The salary for this position is determined on a scale based on education and experience, ranging from $25,182 to $26,851, and is funded in part on a missionary basis, requiring the gathering of a personal support team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • A passion and heart to see the transformation of young people in the Greater Toronto Area, particularly among those experiencing vulnerability;
  • A deep love for Jesus and a desire to serve in their gifting and lean into others’ giftings;
  • A servant-oriented attitude with strong administrative gifts, high attention to detail, and giftedness in what Patrick Lencioni calls ‘tenacity’ – being task-oriented and finding joy in taking things across the finish line;
  • Strength in working with cloud-based systems like QuickBooks Online, Humi, and Google Workspace;
  • The self-initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • 3+ years of related payroll administration experience in a similar role; and
  • The Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation is an asset.
