Position Description

Sanctus Church’s vision is to become a missional church of 10,000 meeting the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of people in Jesus' name. The following staff position is critical in helping Sanctus ministries execute on the fulfillment of that vision.

This is a part-time, permanent position for 25 hours per week reporting directly to the Port Perry Site Pastor. The typical working hours would be Sunday mornings, some Tuesday mornings, half-day Wednesdays at the Ajax office and the remaining hours would be flexible and either at home or in the office.

  • To be the primary point of contact for kids, parents, and families at the Port Perry site, while building and empowering teams of volunteers who will serve this age group
  • To enable to kids of Port Perry to become fully devoted followers of Christ
  • To lead and shepherd the kids in the Sanctus Five Discipleship Dimensions

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure weekly in-person family ministries programming is executed in alignment with the values of Sanctus
  • Oversee and lead kids programming utilizing curriculum and building strategic planning for this age group (obs: kids curriculum will be provided by central kids coordinator for all sites)
  • Prepare kids rooms for Sunday morning experiences, purchasing any extra supplies needed mid-week with reimbursement (ex, snacks)
  • Implement an engaging and nurturing discipleship program that encompasses all 5 discipleship dimensions for kids
  • Provide discipleship pathways and resources for parents as they disciple their kids in alignment with Sanctus values or conjunction with central support 
  • Work closely with the Site Pastor to select, onboard, support Mentors.
  • Provide care to kids and their families at the Port Perry site, while working closely with the Port Perry Site Pastor to coordinate care for families
  • Recruit, develop, and care for teams and volunteers, overseeing schedule process and ensuring the fulfillment of Plan to Protect parameters
  • Build and empower a leadership core team that will embody the mission and strategy for kids discipleship 
  • Champion and manage the family ministries experience at all spaces and rooms available, designing and revitalizing them with the support from other areas of ministry
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with the parents 
  • Organize and lead family ministries events at Port Perry site with the support of the Site Pastor
  • Work closely with Family Ministries and Sites teams on church-wide events (e.g., Palm Saturday, Conferences)
  • Provide support in the way of helping oversee 1 week of Summer Camp that does not coincide with other Port Perry events (with compensation if full-time availability is needed)
  • Lead the charge with family initiatives, such as Parents and Tots, with the support of volunteers and Port Perry Site Pastor
  • Assist in leading, collaborating, and being present for central Parent initiatives such as Parent Nights, building parent resources, and central parent emails
  • Provide practical support to families: ie. gifts at key moments, create and communicate meal trains, etc. 
  • Be a supportive and contributing member on the Port Perry Core team
  • Be present for various central, family ministries, and sites meeting at the Ajax location on Wednesdays
  • Support children and families as they take the step of baptism and/or child dedication
  • Complete any required administrative work, including: expense reports, emails, team projects, event planning, sending emails, volunteer interviews, onboarding, ClickUp, Hubspot
  • Play a central role in Annual Planning for the Port Perry site with prayer and collaboration from the Site Pastor and Core Team, utilizing the plans, methods, and tools that are provided by Senior Leadership Team
  • Other duties as required.
