Position Description

St. Andrew Anglican Church is a small, vibrant church in the heart of downtown Alliston, less than an hour's drive north of Toronto.

The primary role of the music director is to accompany the congregational singing and a small choir at the 10 am Sunday services and at special festivals such as Easter and Christmas.   There may also be opportunities to organize and lead special musical performances.

The music director should be happy to work with contemporary as well as traditional Christian music.   He or she will be skilled at the keyboard and preferably classically trained.    The person will also be willing to learn the Anglican liturgy form of worship.

We are seeking a joyful and committed Christian to help us refill this vacancy.   We are a Biblically-based, conservative Christian community.

The building is a historical architectural jewel and has excellent acoustics.  It is equipped with a high-end Kawai digital stage piano which has organ and orchestral sounds, and a professional-grade digital board and PA system.

The role will take around 4 hours per week, including preparation and practice.   The fee is $150 per service.     The music director works under the guidance of the Parish priest.
