Position Description
This full-time communications role is strategic and has an emphasis on explaining the mission and call of Chosen People Ministries (Canada) (CPMC) to our supporting constituency – individual Christians, pastors and churches across Canada. This role is responsible for managing all communications plan activities and building external relationships with the organization's constituencies, including funders and the media.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Leader of our Communications Ministry will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website and public relations messages to consistently articulate the mission of CPMC.
The Leader of our Communications Ministry will work closely with all staff within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and evaluate the annual communications plan across the Mission’s audiences in collaboration with the Mission’s staff
- Working with our Media Specialist, guide the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Decide who, where and when to disseminate
- Manage the development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and CPMC’s websites
- Mentor and lead team members responsible for CPMC’s daily donor/donation procedures, website administration and coordination, social media communications, grant writing, etc.
- Track and measure the level of engagement within the communication tracks over time
- Manage all media contacts
Qualifications:
Chosen People Ministries (Canada) is seeking an accomplished Communications Ministry Leader who has communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a complex (number and variety of constituents) nonprofit entity, and covering areas such as website content, newsletters and donor communications. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.
Character and spiritual life requirements:
- A sincere heart for reaching Jewish people with the Gospel is the first requirement to serve as a full-time worker, particularly in light of the Biblical mandate to bring the Gospel “to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
- This is a position within a Christian/Messianic ministry. This individual should have a close walk with the Lord, thus leading to a high level of moral character and faith as outlined in Scripture.
- This individual should be part of a local church/congregation.
- He/she will promote and adhere to CPMC’s mission, vision and values; policies and applicable laws in a fair and equitable manner
Specific requirements include:
- Good understanding of Jewish history and culture preferred
- Well-versed in Biblical doctrine and teaching and the evangelical world; able to communicate effectively and tactfully with those of various denominational backgrounds and perspectives
- Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies
- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, CMR databases, Photoshop and design/layout software
- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
- Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence"
- A mature leader with the ability to serve as a unifying force, supporting both the administrative staff and the field missionaries
- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
- Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
