Position Overview:

CIT is seeking a Kids’ Ministry Pastor to oversee all aspects of CITKids’ Ministry. This role will lead and support existing programs and initiatives. This role requires the person to fully grasp the vision, culture, core values, and mission of CIT.

Essential Responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership

• Provide spiritual leadership and guidance to children, volunteers, and staff.
• Lead by example, modeling Christ-like behavior and encouraging a passion for Biblical learning.
• Understand and support the vision, mission, and strategic direction of CIT.

Program Coordination and Curriculum Planning

• Facilitate weekly children’s services and deliver an adapted Orange Curriculum that aligns with CIT’s culture and teachings.
• The Kids’ Ministry Pastor will help provide an environment that will encourage relational, spiritual, and biblical growth for children and volunteers. 

Volunteer Management

• Facilitate leadership development & equipping of children and CITKids’ volunteers.
• Facilitate regular volunteer meetings and trainings.
• Facilitate volunteer activities for those serving on ministry teams.
• Facilitate special events.

Parental Involvement & Communication

• Support parents of attendees by responding to their inquiries, addressing concerns and providing resources to promote the well-being of their children.

Reporting

• Adhere to the established briefing cadence with the Pastoral team.

Qualification/Requirements:

Interpersonal Skills:

• Develop and cultivate a productive working rapport with Pastoral leadership, volunteers and church members.
• Must proficiently communicate (written and verbal),  in a variety of ways with volunteers, parents, and children.

Organizational Skills:

• Demonstrates the ability to perform high-quality work with minimum supervision within assigned deadlines.
• Demonstrates the ability to think strategically while staying focused on accomplishing current ministry priorities.

Personal Characteristics:

• Must live a Christian lifestyle that is in harmony with clear Biblical standards.
• Must have a high degree of creativity and a heart for leading children.
• Must be a flexible and teachable team player.
• High standards of ethics and able to handle confidential matters and material in a trustworthy and excellent manner.

Education/Experience/Requirements:  

• Master’s of Divinity (MDiv) or Masters in Theology (MTS) in student ministry or related field.
• 1-2 years experience in children's ministries in either a volunteer or paid capacity, an asset.
• First Aid & CPR Certification an asset. If not, must be willing to obtain the necessary training.
• Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications i.e. Planning Centre and Microsoft Suites and social media (for communication and outreach purposes).

Working Conditions:

• The Kids’ Ministry Pastor  will work Sunday mornings for program delivery, Monday evenings for meetings, coordination and planning. Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
• Flexibility to work is required during CIT’s special or outreach events.
• May involve occasional travel for training or retreats.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
