Position Description
Position: Part-Time Worship Director
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Hours: 12 per week
Overview:
Atlantic Community Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually grounded Part-Time Worship Director to lead our congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship. This individual will be responsible to lead their team in planning, coordinating, and leading worship services that glorify God. Our church is currently engaged in a new vision that focuses on emerging adults and young families so it is important this individual can lead worship that resonates with this demographic.
Key Responsibilities:
Worship Leadership & Planning:
- Lead worship for Sunday services and special events.
- Collaborate with the lead pastor to plan the weekly service, selecting engaging worship songs that align with the sermon theme and church vision.
- Organize and lead weekly rehearsals for the worship team.
- Introduce and incorporate a blend of contemporary and traditional worship music, as appropriate for the congregation.
Team Development & Coordination:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and disciple musicians and vocalists.
- Work closely with our tech team leader to insure a cohesive partnership between stage and tech booth
- Foster a spiritually encouraging and musically excellent worship team culture.
- Communicate effectively with worship team members regarding scheduling and song selections
Technical & Administrative Tasks:
- Collaborate with the church’s leadership and pastoral staff to ensure worship aligns with the overall vision.
- Collaborate with the audio/visual team to ensure sound quality and smooth technical execution.
- Maintain organization of worship resources, such as song charts, planning software, and media.
Qualifications:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for worship ministry.
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental ability, with some experience leading worship.
- Knowledge of various worship styles and a passion for engaging a multi-generational congregation with a vision to reach more young families.
- Experience with worship technology (sound systems, ProPresenter, Planning Center, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
