Position Description
The Community Programs Coordinator works alongside the pastoral staff to engage the congregation and other stakeholders in service to the community. The Coordinator is responsible for assessing, monitoring and facilitating the capacity of our volunteer base (and that reported by our partner organizations), local (internal and external) program information, promotion, and participation. The result will be more effective operation of the local community programs, more efficient use of the physical facilities, and greater awareness and participation. The Coordinator supports the local community participants, the congregation, and volunteers. The Coordinator possesses and demonstrates skills in written and oral communication, visual (digital) design, interpersonal skills, organization, and facility/event/volunteer management. The successful candidate is a Christian that agrees with and abides by our Articles of Religion and KFMC Employee Handbook.
Program Coordination: 12.5 hours
- Facilitate the alignment of various programs’ capacity with community participation.
- Conduct surveys, polls and/or focus groups (online or in person) to further develop database and better understand community engagement
- Collaborate with community partners and other local agencies to create a database of available community programs available for various target groups, e.g. youth, women, newcomers, etc.
- Help support existing community programs such as the Bike Shop, the community garden, ESL classes, tutoring, etc.
- Work with team to develop new opportunities for learning, training and gathering
Communication: 12.5 hours
- Develop channels for creating greater awareness or and participation in community programs.
- Oversee the design & publishing of print and online/digital content
- Coordinate the communication elements of program teams on an as needed basis within an overall communications plan
Program Delivery: 10 hours
- Coordinate with staff and local agencies to provide training and equipping opportunities according to the current vision plan.
- Help organize, deliver and evaluate the development of the onsite programs as part of the team.
- Ensure that volunteers are screened, trained and certifications are up to date; recruit new volunteers as needed.

- 8 weeks, 35 hrs/week (280 hrs), Salary: $17.20/hr
