Vision Statement — Altadore Church

Altadore Baptist Church is a small, increasingly diverse, city-centre church in Calgary, Alberta seeking a Lead Pastor.  We are an affirming community where all people, regardless of race, culture, sexuality or faith are wholeheartedly welcome.  As a congregationally led church, we are deeply committed to ministering alongside organizations in our neighbourhood and beyond, carrying forward a long-standing dedication to reflect God’s peace, justice and reconciling love. While growth is valued, our priority remains fostering a strong, close-knit community built on faith, inclusion, and meaningful connection.

We seek a Lead Pastor who:

• Fully supports the Vision of Altadore church and delivers relevant, engaging messages to challenge, inspire, and encourage our congregation.
• Sees diversity as a strength, fostering an inclusive community where all backgrounds and perspectives are welcomed in faith and unity.
• Embraces change – 'Welcome to ambiguity’.  We recognize that our journey is ever evolving as we live out our faith, remaining open to growth and transformation within our community.
• As a wholesome, down-to-earth Lead Pastor, humbly reflects the image of God.
• Has a strong sense of family and pastoral ministry while supporting and encouraging us as we navigate the events of our daily lives.
• Brings energy, flexibility, and discernment in meeting the evolving needs of our church.
• Helps foster a vibrant, faith-filled community, creatively engaging in biblically-based ministry and outreach.
• Works collaboratively with the Leadership Core, ensuring open and effective communication.
• Addresses issues with integrity, courage and grace, and acknowledges both the opportunities and cautions within new understandings and differing perspectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Theological training (Seminary Degree preferred but not required). 
• Pastoral and Care experience.
• Ministry and Staff Leadership experience.
